As the high school season is coming down to the final stretch before the post season, we are seeing less events this weekend. There is a good one in the southeast part of the state, however, as McAlester is hosting the 5A Shootout Festival.
Nine 5A teams will be ascending on McAlester beginning on Thursday with some of the teams not only being state tournament contenders, but legitimate state title contenders.
It is forecasted that rain could be a factor each day with Saturday looking like the biggest chance of rain. Let’s hope they can get in as many of these games as they can.
