Across Oklahoma this week, there are several high school tournaments taking place. We will do our best here at SSBR to provide as much coverage as we can.

One of the tournaments we will be focusing on is the Rattan Spring Classic. This tournament features some of the best small schools in the entire state and several state title contenders from Class B up to Class 3A.

Schedule

This tournament is almost a rarity these days. It is a true bracketed tournament where the team that wins 3 games wins the tournament. In today’s world of controlling how many games a team plays, it is more about “festival” where there isn’t a “championship” on the line.

This tournament also has the potential to have some top level matchups in the semis and finals. Five of the teams are in the top 6 in their respective classes (2A-B). Silo would be, but they were bumped up to 3A this Spring where it is about District standings. However, the Rebels have yet to lose to an Oklahoma team this Spring and don’t forget that Silo played Rattan in the Class A Fall State finals last semester.

Wright City and Wister joined Silo and Rattan in the Class A Fall State Tournament, while Tupelo and Roff were both in the Class B Fall State Tournament.
