With the different levels of baseball played in the college ranks, it can be hard keeping up with the different rankings.
Well, don’t look any further because here is your one stop for all the rankings for NCAA D1, NCAA D2, NAIA, NCCAA, and NJCAA (along with some thoughts).
We will do these on Wednesdays since the D2 and NAIA rankings aren’t posted until then.
*Apologies for not posting last week. As many of you know allergies are a “b—-” in Oklahoma and they’ve hit earlier this year. Had me down for a few days.
NAIA
Let’s start with NAIA this week since their first regular season poll was released today. The NAIA poll is a coaches poll, so take that for what it’s worth.

Well, what do we have here? After not getting much attention in the preseason poll for the Sooner State (OCU & USAO received votes), we’ve got Oklahoma Wesleyan entering the poll at #17. The Eagles have won 11 of their last 13 games (the 2 losses were to Tabor and OCU) and sit at the top of the KCAC standings. They split a double header with Tabor on Tuesday snapping the Blue Jays’ 12 game winning streak.
USAO and OCU are still receiving votes as they should. OCU’s record is at 15-10, but they have played one of the toughest schedules out there. They’ve played #6 Central Methodist, #8 Doane, #14 Missouri Baptist, #15 Bellevue, #17 OKWU, #18 Freed-Hardeman, and #24 MidAmerica Nazarene (they have wins over Central Methodist, Bellevue, OKWU, Freed-Hardeman (2x).
USAO has a series win over Bellevue.
Also receiving votes is MACU. At 13-8, the Evangels have played a tough schedule as well. They split 2 games with #3 LSU Shreveport (one of only two losses for LSUS), beat #14 Missouri Baptist, run ruled (RV) Friends, played (RV) Tabor twice, and won their series over USAO and OCU.
It’s time to give MACU some respect.
NJCAA D1

Not much has changed. Connors State is receiving votes and they are the only Oklahoma team mentioned.
*I also checked on the PBR JUCO rankings. The last poll they had was 3/1/24 and had Connors St receiving votes as well.
NJCAA D2

Finally after 7 weeks into the season, we get the first regular season poll for the D2 level. Oklahoma has several top tier D2 programs so I was anxiously awaiting for this.
Western OK State comes in at #12 in the first poll. I’m not saying that the Pioneers shouldn’t be ranked. They have tons of talent up and down that lineup. Buuuut some of their results don’t matchup.
Both NOC Tonkawa and NOC Enid are receiving votes in the poll. I don’t know. It seems like the Mavericks and Jets have done enough to get the recognition of being ranked. The Jets are on a 10 game heater while the Mavs are on a 9 game heater.
Enid, Tonk, and Western will play each other over the next few weeks then again in late April.
NCAA D1

No surprises. Moving on.
NCCAA

Both MACU and Southwestern Christian are in the latest NCCAA poll. MACU stays steady at #5 while SCU jumps in at #7.
NCAA D2

No Oklahoma school is in the top 25, but UCO is not that far out of it. If the poll were extended, the Bronchos would be #28. Got to imagine a good weekend and they would probably make it. (UCO’s record is actually 19-5, maybe that’s why they aren’t ranked.)

NWOSU joins UCO in the Central Region rankings right behind them. These rankings were done before Tuesday, so it’ll be interesting to see how the voters react to the Rangers losing to OK Panhandle State – an NAIA team.
Rogers State fell 3 spots to #9 after getting swept by Pittsburg State. After losing on Tuesday as well, their series this weekend at Emporia State is a big one.
What you don’t see is that Oklahoma Baptist and SWOSU are receiving votes.
