The national preseason poll was released today for NJCAA Division 2, and while no Oklahoma school was ranked in the top 20, 2 schools did receive votes.
Murray State College in Tishomingo and Western Oklahoma State College in Altus garnered votes.
Murray State would’ve been ranked 23rd if the poll went out past 20.
In 2023, the Aggies spent all season ranked in the top 20 (with several weeks in the top 10) before falling out the last ranking of the season. MSC went 41-19 on the season and finished 4th in the tough Region 2.
The Aggies play at preseason #3 Pearl River CC the weekend of February 16-18.
Western Oklahoma State College (WOSC) would be ranked 35th if the poll went out that far.
In 2023, the Pioneers spent time in and out of the rankings and finished 15th in the final rankings. WOSC went 43-18 finishing 2nd in Region 2 and was the runner up in the Great Plains District Championship missing the NJCAA D2 World Series by 1 game.
Two other Region 2 schools from the Arkansas side were represented as well: South Arkansas CC came in at #11 and Southern Arkansas University Tech received votes. SACC won both the Region 2 regular season title and the Great Plains District Championship in 2023.
