So far this fall season, there have been several tournaments that have had some great fields. The Dale Invitational, Roff Tournament, Hydro-Eakly Labor Day Tournament, and the Okarche/AmPo Invitational all come to mind.
You can add another tournament to that list. Silo High School is hosting their annual Silo Tournament this weekend and it looks to be a good one.
Five teams in the field are ranked in the top ten for Class A of the OSSAA rankings: Oktaha (#1), Silo (#5), Dale (#6), Tushka (#8), and Wright City (#9). Latta is #13 in A while Tupelo is ranked #3 in Class B.

Bracket

Bracket Breakdown
- The first thing that jumps out is the Silo/Tupelo matchup in the first round. The Tigers beat the Rebels in the finals of the Tupelo Tournament a few weeks ago. Silo had a few players out then, but they are back and the young players have that much more experience.
- The Tushka/Wright City is a rematch of a game that Tushka won in 8 innigs on August 22.
- Dale has gone 3-7 in their last 7 games. Latta has shown they can play with the top teams as they handed Preston their first loss last week, and beat Rattan a couple week ago.
- The potential Oktaha/Silo matchup in the semis would be huge. Oktaha has beaten current #2, #3, #6 (2x), #8, #9, #11, and #13. A win over Silo would be another notch in their already impressive resume. A win over Oktaha would put Silo in the state title contender category (if they aren’t already there).
- In the top half, I have to go with Oktaha. Although the game would be played at Silo, Oktaha is at the point where they should be picked until they lose and at this point I don’t know if they will.
- In the bottom half, you could make a case for any 4 of the teams. I would go with the hot team and that is Tushka at this point. After starting 2-2, Tushka is 10-1 and their lone loss came against Oktaha in which Tushka was leading until the 6th inning.
