Among the 6 different tournament/festivals this weekend, one that might get overlooked it the Varnum Tournament at Varnum High School in Seminole County. Looking at the bracket and the team that are playing, overlooking this one would be a mistake.

Three different teams entered already have 5 wins on the young season: Union City (5-0), Stuart (5-0), and the host school Varnum (5-1). Better yet, these 3 teams are set up on the bracket where none of them would play each other until at least the semi finals.

These 3 teams aren’t the only ones to look out for. Kiowa comes in with a 3-1 record with their lone loss to a good Tupelo team. Buffalo Valley also comes in with 3 wins.

Bracket Breakdown

Like we said in the opening, the 3 teams with 5 wins are separated on bracket along with Kiowa. The top half features Union City and Varnum and I can’t help to think they’ll play each other in the semis. On the bottom half, Kiowa looks like they should make the semis, but that game between Stuart and Buffalo Valley is interesting.

*One thing I like about this bracket is the more realistic 2.5 hours between game times. It sets a more proper expectation for the teams and fans.
