When there’s a plethora of tournaments going on, you may have to do something that makes yours stand out. That’s what the people at Fletcher High School are doing as they are hosting a wood bat tournament this weekend.

As you’ll see, most of these teams have struggled this season. Only Oklahoma Christian Academy (2-1) and Big Pasture (3-2) come into the tournament with records over .500. Half of the teams are, unfortunately, winless coming into the tournament. Hopefully some of those teams can get some marks in the “W” column this weekend.

Bracket Breakdown

I don’t know if the tournament organizers meant to do it this way, but 4 of the 5 winless games will play another winless team in the first round. So we know at least 2 winless teams coming into the tournament will get a win.

Looking at the bracket, it’s hard not to think that it’ll be either OCA or Sterling coming out of the top half with Fletcher or Big Pasture coming out of the bottom. It’s obvious that whoever can get through the semis will have an advantage as it’ll be hard to come back through the loser’s bracket.

Whatever happens, there is 6 games scheduled for each day. Talk about a lot of baseball and a lot of time at the ballpark for the organizers. Hopefully they can get a lot of rest on Sunday.
