When Sooner State Baseball Report started in 2023, one of the things we did was try to evaluate who the best college team in the state is relative to their level of play. We did that by creating the SSBR College Power 10.
We take a look at who each team’s performance and the level of competition they have played. As the season goes on, head to head competition will obviously become more of a factor as well.
For example, are we saying that teams at the junior college level are better than say OSU or OU? No. But relative to their level, those JUCO teams could be having a better season than OSU or OU.
As a reminder, our first two Power 10 champs were ORU in 2023 after they made a run to the CWS, and MACU in 2024 after their dominant SAC regular season and tournament championships on the way to their first ever NAIA National Tournament appearance as a #1 regional seed. OK Wesleyan took the top spot in 2025 after winning the KCAC regular season title as well as finishing #11 in the final NAIA poll.
The previous 3 seasons’ polls were done by a single person, but in 2025 there is a panel. Each member ranks their top 10 and the points are added up to get the poll for that week.
This is for fun, so please treat it as such.

1. Rogers State Hillcats (NCAA D2), 27-4; Prev: 2
We have a new #1 this week as the Hillcats take over the top spot. Their winning streak came to an end on Sunday at 19, but Rogers State went 3-1 for the week including a series win against an Emporia State team that was receiving votes in national polls.
RSU sits atop the MIAA standings a half game over national power, Central Missouri…who just so happens to be the Hillcats’ opponent this coming weekend. Can you say, “HUGE”?
This week: Tues vs UCO; Thur-Sat: at #7 Central Missouri (3 games)
2. Oklahoma Sooners (NCAA D1), 19-8; Prev: 1
We said last week that the margin between 1 and 2 was a thin as it had been all season and with the Sooners getting swept at Texas along with RSU’s impressive run, the switch was made.
Having said that, outside the 1st game vs the Longhorns, OU was very much in the series and could’ve won it just as easy as they lost it. The Sooners blew late game leads in the last 2 games when their usually solid bullpen couldn’t stop walking batters.
Also an area of concern is the offense. OU hasn’t scored more than 4 runs in their last 7 games. That is not going to get it done in college baseball.
This week: Tues at ORU; Thur-Sat vs Alabama (3 games)
3. Seminole State Trojans (NJCAA D1), 27-7; Prev: 4
Seminole State just keeps rolling along. They had a perfect week last week including a Region 2 sweep of Rose State.
The Trojans sit atop the Region 2 standings at 10-2 and as of today are ranked #25 in the NJCAA Coaches Poll for D1.
This week: Mon vs Grayson; Thu at DFW Post Grad; Sat vs DFW Post Grad (DH)
4. Murray State Aggies (NJCAA D2), 27-8; Prev: 5
Murray State went a perfect 5-0 last week including a sweep of UA Rich Mountain in Region 2 play.
The Aggies sit tied with Western atop the West standings at 10-2 which makes their series this coming week a big one.
This week: Mon at Eastern; Thur vs Western (DH); Sat at Western (DH)
5. MACU Evangels (NAIA), 25-9; Prev: 3
Sometimes things happen in the sport of baseball that you just can’t explain and that is what happened to MACU last week. Riding a 10 game winning streak into their series at Central Christian, the Evangels dropped both games of Friday’s double header before winning game 3 on Saturday.
The series loss knocks MACU down to 2nd in the SAC a game behind Texas Wesleyan which they hold the tiebreaker with. They’ve got a big series this week against 3rd place Wayland Baptist who is only a game behind MACU.
This week: Tues at Randall; Fri-Sat vs Wayland Baptist (3 games)
6. Western OK State Pioneers (NJCAA D2), 25-10; Prev: 8
Western moves up 2 spots in this week’s poll after going 3-2 last week. The Pioneers lost to Seminole on Tuesday before taking 3 of 4 from Carl Albert State over the weekend.
Western is tied with Murray State at 10-2 in Region 2 with their big series coming up.
This week: Thurs at Murray State (DH); Sat vs Murray State (DH)
7. NOC Enid Jets (NJCAA D2), 28-10; Prev: 7
The Jets went 5-0 last week with wins over Seward County and 2 wins apiece against the JV squads from OK Christian and East Central.
Enid is 3-5 in Region 2 so they’ll need a big series against Redlands to move them up the standings.
This week: Mon vs Rose State; Thurs at Redlands (DH); Sun vs Redlands
8. Connors State Cowboys (NJCAA D1), 27-9; Prev: 6
The Cowboys went 3-1 last week with their 3 wins against Arkansas Tech JV and DFW Post Grad. Their loss came vs Crowder at home.
At 7-5 in Region 2, their series against NEO is a huge one if they want to keep pace.
This week: Mon vs OKWU JV; Tues vs NEO (at ONE OK Field); Sat at NEO (DH)
9. NEO Norsemen (NJCAA D1), 23-9; Prev: NR
Speaking of the Norsemen, they reenter the chat this week riding an 8 game winning streak. NEO swept Rose State last week to push their Region record to 8-4 – one game ahead of Connors State.
This week: Mon at Carl Albert State; Tues vs Connors State (at ONE OK Field); Sat vs Connors State (DH)
10. Southeastern OK State Savage Storm (NCAA D2), 20-13; Prev: 9
Hanging on to the 10th spot is Southeastern OK State. The Savage Storm has cooled off a bit in the recent weeks losing their last 2 GAC series, 2-1, this week to OBU.
However, they still get the nod at 10 based on the fact they are tied for 4th in the GAC and are in a good spot to make the postseason tournament with 4 series to go.
This week: Tues vs SNU (non con game); Fri-Sat at SWOSU (3 games)
Dropped out: OK Wesleyan Eagles (NAIA)
- Record: 21-14; 2-2 last week
