When Sooner State Baseball Report started in 2023, one of the things we did was try to evaluate who the best college team in the state is relative to their level of play. We did that by creating the SSBR College Power 10.
We take a look at who each team’s performance and the level of competition they have played. As the season goes on, head to head competition will obviously become more of a factor as well.
For example, are we saying that teams at the junior college level are better than say OSU or OU? No. But relative to their level, those JUCO teams could be having a better season than OSU or OU.
As a reminder, our first two Power 10 champs were ORU in 2023 after they made a run to the CWS, and MACU in 2024 after their dominant SAC regular season and tournament championships on the way to their first ever NAIA National Tournament appearance as a #1 regional seed. OK Wesleyan took the top spot in 2025 after winning the KCAC regular season title as well as finishing #11 in the final NAIA poll.
The previous 3 seasons’ polls were done by a single person, but in 2025 there is a panel. Each member ranks their top 10 and the points are added up to get the poll for that week.
Please note that OU, OSU, and ORU are now eligible since their seasons started this weekend.
This is for fun, so please treat it as such.

1. Oklahoma Sooners (NCAA D1), 19-5; Prev 1
OU holds on to the top spot this week, but the margin between #1 and #2 is as thin as it has been up to this point in the season. The Sooners went 2-2 last week losing their midweek game at SE Louisiana then beating LSU, 2-1, in their series.
In both games 2 and 3 at LSU, the Sooners showed some grit as they trailed in both games, but the bullpen held it down until the offense was to finally break through with runs late in the games.
Big week this week as it will be a top 10 matchup against rival, Texas.
This week: Thurs-Sat at Texas
2. Rogers State Hillcats (NCAA D2), 24-3; Prev 2
Rogers State just keeps rolling along as they went 4-0 last week pushing the longest winning streak we’ve seen in Oklahoma so far this year to 16.
The Hillcats beat UCO at the Bricktown Ballpark on Tuesday before going on the road and dismantling Newman in 3 run rules.
If it wasn’t for OU winning their first 2 SEC series, the Hillcats would probably be in the top spot.
The schedule will start to turn tougher starting this next weekend.
This week: Wed: vs UA Fort Smith; Fri-Sun: vs (RV) Emporia State
3. MACU Evangels (NAIA), 22-7; Prev 6
MACU moves up three spots this week riding an 8 game winning streak of their own. The Evangels beat Hesston in midweek action then swept College of the Ozarks over the weekend.
MACU sits tied with Texas Wesleyan atop the SAC standings as it looks like a 2 team race for the regular season title. However, the Evangels hold the tiebreaker via their 3 game sweep of the Rams.
This week: Tues: vs Randall (DH); Fri-Sat: at Central Christian (3 games)
4.Seminole State Trojans (NJCAA D1), 23-7; Prev 5
The Trojans move up a spot this week after going 4-1 last week. Seminole State dropped their first game vs Connors State in their series, but came back to win games 2 and 3 to take the series.
SSC sits in 1st place in Region 2 at this point at 7-2
This week: Tues: at Western; Thurs: at Rose State; Sat: vs Rose State (DH)
5. Murray State Aggies (NJCAA D2), 22-8; Prev 4
The Aggies drop a spot after dropping their DH at Carl Albert State on Saturday. MSC split the 4 game series with Carl Albert State, but still sit a strong 6-2 in Region 2 play after the first 2 weekends.
This week: Mon: vs Eastern; Thurs: at UA Rich Mountain (DH); Sat: vs UA Rick Mountain (DH)
6. Connors State (NJCAA D1), 24-8; Prev 3
Connors State drops 3 spots this week after losing their series with Seminole State getting swept in Saturday’s double header.
The Cowboys are in 2nd place in Region 2 at 7-5, but could be even more back after this week as they do not play a Region 2 series this week.
This week: Tues: vs Crowder; Wed: vs Arkansas Tech JV; Sat: vs DFW Post Grad (DH)
7. NOC Enid Jets (NJCAA D2), 23-10; Prev 8
NOC Enid moves up a spot this week after taking 3 of 4 games from NOC Tonkawa. In their 3 wins vs the Mavs, the Jets scored a combined total of 46 runs.
This week: Tues: vs Seward County; Thurs: vs OC JV (DH); Sat: vs OC JV (DH)
8. Western OK State Pioneers (NJCAA D2), 22-8; Prev 8
Western took 3 of 4 against Redlands last week to move to 7-1 in Region 2 play after the first 2 weeks. The Pioneers sit atop the standings 1 game ahead of Murray State
This week: Tues: vs Seminole State; Fri-Sat: vs Carl Albert State (4 games)
9. Southeastern OK State Savage Storm (NCAA D2), 18-1; Prev 7
The Savage Storm drop to the 9th spot after dropping their GAC series at Harding, 2-1. SEOSU still sits in the top 4 in the GAC tied with Harding, but they lose that tiebreaker.
SEOSU has won 4 of their first 6 GAC series.
This week: Tues: at ECU; Fri-Sat: vs OK Baptist (3 games)
10. OK Wesleyan Eagles (NAIA), 19-12; Prev 10
OKWU hangs on to the 10th spot after winning their series vs McPherson, 2-1. The Eagles showed a lot of grit in the final game as they scored 5 runs in the bottom of the last innings to walk it off against the Bulldogs.
This week: Tues: at Southwestern (KS); Fri-Sat: at York (3 games)
Dropped Out: Oklahoma State Cowboys, Prev 6
