The first full week of the high school season for Classes 3A-6A is upon us and that means it is time for some District series. 

Several teams, however, have decided to delay the start of District play so there were not as many series to choose from. However, we think we have found the best matchups in each class for the week. 

Let’s take a quick look at each one.

Class 6A

Owasso Rams vs Stillwater Pioneers (6A-3)

Two 6A State Tournament teams from 2025 get together this week. Owasso was the State Runner Up last year while Stillwater got knocked out in the quarterfinals.

Owasso has gotten off to an 8-5 start, but have won 7 of their last 9 games. The Rams are coming off a 5 game road trip in Florida where they went 3-2.

Stillwater comes into the week at 7-2. They had won 7 in a row before dropping a road game at Maize (KS).

In a district that also has a surging Jenks squad and a solid Broken Arrow team, a sweep by either team this week could go a long way towards a top 2 District finish and hosting a Regional.

Class 5A

Noble Bears vs Midwest City Bombers (5A-1)

Class 5A-1 seems to be more wide open this season that what was thought.

Noble comes in at 4-0 in District, but this is their first series against one of the other top teams. The Bears have

Midwest City has already faced one of those top teams in Guthrie splitting that series. A sweep by the Bombers could set them up to finish in one of the coveted top 2 spots.

Class 4A

North Rock Creek Cougars vs Ada Cougars (4A-5)

After the first few weeks of the season, it looks like Distrit 4A-5 is a 3 team race between Ada, Byng, and North Rock Creek. This is the first matchup between any of those teams.

North Rock Creek comes into the series with a 6-4 record with 3 of those losses to really good squads in OCS, Washington, and Heritage Hall.

Ada is 4-0 against Oklahoma (and District) teams (Cushing and Perkins-Tryon), but they are coming off 4 losses last week in Gulf Shores.

With this looking like a 3 team race in the District, a sweep could go a long way to a top 2 finish for the winner and a long way to a non top 2 finish for the loser.

Class 3A

Victory Christian Conquerors vs Rejoice Christian Eagles (3A-7)

This is another early season matchup between 2 teams that should be competing for one of the top 2 spots in the District.

Victory Christian has a losing record at 5-7 at this point, but they’ve played an extremely tough schedule. They are 4-0 in District and lead the District in District points.

Rejoice Christian is 3-1 in District and in what looks like a 4 team race for the top 2 spots, a sweep of the Conquerors would be huge for the Eagles. Getting swept would be detrimental to their top 2 spot chances.
