The calendar has turned to March and that means the OSSAA baseball season is now in full swing.

All of the classifications are now open to start their seasons this week and that means we have an almost full slate of games this week.

One of the things we like to do at SSBR is highlight 5 games during the week that we think should have a special “focus” on them. They could be matchups of top teams in the same class, rivalries, or even teams that may not get the coverage other programs do.

There are a couple of caveats that we have regarding what games are “eligible” to be selected.

  • They cannot be a District series game.
  • They cannot be part of a festival or scheduled tournament game that we may be covering during the week.

Without further ado, here are the SSBR Games of the Week for Week 2.

Moss Pirates (B) vs Mill Creek Bullfrogs (B)
Monday, March 9, 4:30 p.m.

This may be a game you weren’t thinking about as a GOTW, but it could be an important one in Class B.

Mill Creek is coming off their first trip to a state tournament in school history this past fall and the Bullfrogs look to continue that momentum this Spring.

Moss has a history of qualifying for state even as recently as 2023 for both Spring and Fall. The Pirates have been on the upward trend the last couple of years and they look to get there this Spring.

A win in this game could go a long way in how a team feels about themselves going into the meat of the season.

Colbert Leopards (2A-1) vs Tushka Tigers (2A-2)
Tuesday, March 10, 4:30 p.m.

Both Colbert and Tushka are legitimate state championship contenders in their respective classes this season. This past Fall, both teams qualified for the 2A state tournament with Tushka making the finals and Colbert making the semifinals.

Although these teams faced each other in the 2A-2 state semifinals in 2025 (with Tushka eventually winning it all), Colbert has moved up to 2A-1 for 2026.

Moore Lions (6A) vs #11 Marlow Outlaws (3A)
Thursday, March 12, 5:00 p.m.

We like interclass matchups here at SSBR and this is definitely and interesting one.

Although Moore had a rough opening week going 0-3, the Lions is a 6A state tournament contender and they showed that giving Edmond Memorial a 1 run game on Thursday last week.

Marlow is one of the favorites in 3A and this game will be the first true test for the Outlaws this season.

Bixby Spartans (6A) vs Silo Rebels (3A)
Friday, March 13, 1:00 p.m.

Another interclass matchup and this is a good one.

Bixby is a 6A power and won it all as recently as 2024. They should be 3-1 heading into this game with Silo.

Silo is one of the most storied programs in the state at any level. They’ve won the state (Fall) championship as recently as 2024. They made the 3A state tournament last year and look to be one of the top teams in that class this year.

Kudos to both teams for scheduling this game.

#1 Tuttle Tigers (4A) vs #4 Mount St Mary Rockets (4A)
Friday, March 13, 5:00 p.m.

A top 4 matchup in the 2nd week of the season? Yes, please!

Mount St Mary has a deep pitching staff and the arms to challenge just about anyone. Moving back up to 4A in 2026, the Rockets look to be a state tournament team. This will be a good test to see the depth of the Rockets as they play Heritage Hall in a District series to start the week and a game at 6A Westmoore the day before.

Tuttle looks to be the class of 4A through week 1. They beat 6A favorite, Edmond Memorial on the road and rival Washington at home. This will be a good test for the Tigers and they may be able to put the rest of 4A on notice even more as the team to beat.
