The first full week of the high school season for Classes 3A-6A is upon us and that means it is time for some District series. 

Several teams, however, have decided to delay the start of District play so there were not as many series to choose from. However, we think we have found the best matchups in each class for the week. 

Let’s take a quick look at each one.

Class 6A

Edmond Santa Fe Wolves vs Mustang Broncos (6A-1)

These teams are a combined 8-1 after the 1st week (ESF 4-1, Mustang 4-0).

Edmond Santa Fe had impressive wins over defending 5A state champ, Duncan and 6A state runner up from 2025, Owasso before losing to Sand Springs.

Mustang won games against Southmoore, Moore, Noble, and Edmond North.

With Edmond Memorial, Yukon, and Westmoore also in the District, a sweep in this series could go a long way to a top 2 finish and hosting a Regional.

Also, both of these teams are in the Week 1 SSBR High School Sweet Sixteen with Mustang coming in at #12 and Edmond Santa Fe at #15.

Class 5A

Guthrie Blue Jays vs Midwest City Bombers (5A-1)

Guthrie comes into this series at 3-1 after beating Guymon twice and Kingfisher by big margins before losing a 1 run game at Choctaw.

Midwest City has opened a new turf home field and started 4-0 in the first week. The Bombers beat El Reno twice in District before beating PC West and Southmoore at home.

With Carl Albert and Noble both in the District, a sweep can go a long way to getting a top 2 finish in District and host a Regional.

Class 4A

Heritage Hall Chargers vs Mount St Mary Rockets (4A-1)

This is another SSBR Sweet Sixteen matchup at MSM comes in at #4 and Heritage Hall at #6.

After making the state semifinals in 2024 with a young team, the 2025 season was a bit of a disappointment. Injuries hampered the Rockets as they did not make it out of the Regional round in the 3A postseason.

Despite moving back up to 4A in 2026, MSM is one of the top teams in the class with everyone healthy coming into the season. They showed that in the first week as they beat 6A Deer Creek solidly (10-0) behind returning from injury ace, Parker Hayes. They finished the week dominating 5A McAlester and Denison(TX) on Thursday. For the week, the Rockets outscored their opponents 34-1.

It’s a new era for Heritage Hall as long time MLBer Mickey Tettleton takes over the program.

The Chargers only played 2 games last week, but they were impressive offensively as they put up 22 runs combined on Chickasha and Piedmont. Isaac Beeson looked like his coach did when he played as he hit 2 bombs on the week.

These are the top 2 teams in the District and they should finish 1-2 so a sweep would give that team a HUGE advantage in the standings.

Class 3A

Jones Longhorns vs Hennessey Eagles (3A-4)

This is another early season matchup between 2 teams that should be competing for one of the top 2 spots in the District.

Jones comes in at 3-1 with their loss to Piedmont by 1 run.

Hennessey comes in at 2-0 with one of their wins against another District top 2 contender Chisholm with their 2nd game not played yet.
