SSBR Games of the Week is now sponsored by Chris Cameron, Lippard Real Estate & Auctions. You can check him out at https://www.lippardauctions.com/chris-cameron-bio/ or facebook.com/CCameronAuctions.
The calendar has turned to March and that means the OSSAA baseball season is now in full swing.
All of the classifications are now open to start their seasons this week and that means we have an almost full slate of games this week.
One of the things we like to do at SSBR is highlight 5 games during the week that we think should have a special “focus” on them. They could be matchups of top teams in the same class, rivalries, or even teams that may not get the coverage other programs do.
There are a couple of caveats that we have regarding what games are “eligible” to be selected.
- They cannot be a District series game.
- They cannot be part of a festival or scheduled tournament game that we may be covering during the week.
Without further ado, here are the SSBR Games of the Week for Week 1.

Washington Warriors (3A) vs Choctaw Yellowjackets (6A)
Monday, March 2, 5:00 p.m.
Talk about an interesting game to start the season.
Washington comes into 2026 having won the last 4 Class 3A State Championships. They won the title in 2025 after beating 3 higher seeds in the state tournament. Not only were they all higher seeds, they were the 1, 2, and 3 seeds. The Warriors return up to 11 players that all saw considerable playing time in 2025.

Choctaw comes into the 2026 after state tournament appearances in 2024 and 2025. They return up to 8 players from those teams. Not only do they return those player, they have a slew of newcomers that head coach, Shane Hawk says are hungry for playing time.
Perhaps the biggest newcomer to the Yellowjackets is Josiah Kemp. He is transferring from Westmoore where he lead the Jaguars to the 2024 state crown as a sophomore and he is considered the top player in the 2026 class from Oklahoma. Kemp has already signed with OU and is projected to be selected in next summer’s MLB Draft.

Piedmont Wildcats (6A) vs Edmond Memorial Bulldogs (6A)
Monday, March 2, 5:00 p.m.
Piedmont comes into the 2026 season coming off a 6A State Semifinals appearance. The Wildcats return several players that have been a part of their transition to 6A over the last 2 seasons. Head coach, Adam Skokowski says he is excited for this season as they look to take the next step.

Edmond Memorial comes into 2026 after getting upset in Regionals in 2025. The Bulldogs are considered the most talented group of players in the state. They have 3 players signed or committed to NCAA D1 schools and 4 more signed or committed to top level JUCOs.
Head coach, JP Holman, says that the Bulldogs are aware of the outside expectations on this team, but they will block out the noise and focus on themselves.

Moore Lions (6A) vs Westmoore Jaguars (6A)
Monday, March 2, 5:00 p.m.
Most rivals wait a while to play each other, but not the “Moore War.” The Lions and Jaguars will get at it right out of the gate in the first game of the season.
Moore is coming off a 22-14 season in 2025 where they saw improvement in Joe Haddox first year on the job. The Lions return a lot of experience and Coach Haddox is excited to see what this group can do.
Westmoore returns a ton of experience on the mound, but not much anywhere else. Head coach, Brian Hunnicutt says the depth in pitching should keep the Jags in games until the offense can catch up.

Edmond Santa Fe Wolves (6A) vs Duncan Demons (5A)
Tuesday, March 4, 6:00 p.m.
This is a matchup of the 2025 State Champions in both 6A and 5A.
While both teams still have state tournament aspirations in 2026, they both will have to overcome a lack of experience to do so. Both return limited experience at the varsity level, but both head coaches say that if they can learn and overcome that, they will be state tournament contenders.

Thursday, March 5, 5:00 p.m.
Coming off a state runner up appearance in 2025, the Tigers look for another run for their 2nd state championship in 4 years (2023).
Tuttle returns a ton of experience including 5 college signees in the 2026 class. This group has been together for several years and have one last year on the diamond together.
