Chickasha had a successful 2025 Spring going 27-12 with a 10-2 district play record in a very tough district. The Chicks were a state qualifier and Coach Kevin James talks about these two returning seniors here…

Brody Ross (2026), RHP/UTILITY – McLennan CC Commit

Coach James’ Thoughts:

“6’5 Hard throwing RHP that has 3 Pitches. Came on last year as a Hitter and will hit in the middle of the order.”

Brody’s Interview:

  • Tell me about yourself on & off the field. -> “On the field I want to do the best I can to help my team win, and play as hard as I can. Off the field I usually play video games, hangout with friends, or I am eating.”
  • How do you feel heading into this season compared to last? -> “I think we are all trying to achieve the same goal, we are all trying to win and do our best, we are trying to go back to state and make a run. We have really good chemistry on and off the field.”
  • What personal goals have you set for yourself? -> “My personal goals are going to win a state Championship have no losses on the mound and compete at the plate.”
  • What does a successful season look like for you? -> “A successful season is working hard and trying to win every game and going far in state, as long as we compete to the best of our abilities and we are satisfied where we ended up.”
  • What’s the biggest challenge you expect this season? -> “I think our biggest challenge this year is going to be on the offensive end we lost a couple of good hitter from last year and we are going to have to fill those roles but I think we have a great pitching staff and good defense to back it up.”
  • What do you want to be remembered for as a player at Chickasha? -> “I want to be remembered as a really hard worker and being a good teammate.”

Kiefer Woods (2026) – RHP/UTLITY – Eastern Oklahoma State Commit

Coach James’ Thoughts: “Came on last year. Pitched quality innings and expect more this season. Will push for everyday playing time.”

Kiefer’s Interview:

  • Tell me about yourself on & off the field. -> “On the field my main goal is just to compete and do my job to help the team win. Off the field I usually like to hangout with my friends, play basketball, golf, and NBA2k.”
  • How do you feel heading into this season compared to last? -> “My confidence is a lot higher in my abilities and l am ready to go to work. Our team chemistry is very high and we all are working towards the same goal.”
  • What personal goals have you set for yourself? -> “My personal goals are winning a state championship and competing on the mound and the plate every single day.”
  • What does a successful season look like for you? -> “A successful season to me is where everyone is happy where we ended up and that we fought hard no matter the outcome.”
  • What’s the biggest challenge you expect this season? -> “A big challenge for us this year is gonna be seeing names like Tuttle, Blanchard, and Newcastle on our schedule and just being confident that we are right up there with those guys. I want to beat Blanchard really bad.”
  • What do you want to be remembered for as a player at Chickasha? -> “I want to be remembered for being a nice guy and a good friend to my teammates.”
