When Sooner State Baseball Report started in 2023, one of the things we did was try to evaluate who the best college team in the state is relative to their level of play. We did that by creating the SSBR College Power 10.

We take a look at who each team’s performance and the level of competition they have played. As the season goes on, head to head competition will obviously become more of a factor as well.

For example, are we saying that teams at the junior college level are better than say OSU or OU? No. But relative to their level, those JUCO teams could be having a better season than OSU or OU.

As a reminder, our first two Power 10 champs were ORU in 2023 after they made a run to the CWS, and MACU in 2024 after their dominant SAC regular season and tournament championships on the way to their first ever NAIA National Tournament appearance as a #1 regional seed. OK Wesleyan took the top spot in 2025 after winning the KCAC regular season title as well as finishing #11 in the final NAIA poll.

The previous 3 seasons’ polls were done by a single person, but in 2025 there is a panel. Each member ranks their top 10 and the points are added up to get the poll for that week.

Please note that OU, OSU, and ORU are now eligible since their seasons started this weekend.

This is for fun, so please treat it as such.

1. Oklahoma Sooners (NCAA D1), 7-0; Prev 1

The Sooners were dominant this past week. Finishing up their stay in Arlington, OU put up another double digit run performance beating New Mexico State on Monday then swept Coppin State in their opening home series by a cumulative score of 57-1.

The Sooners have scored at least 10 runs in each of their first 7 games.

Things get tougher this week as they host Arizona State who is also 7-0 for a 2 game set on Tuesday and Wednesday then Gonzaga for a 3 game series over the weekend.

This week: Tues & Wed vs Arizona State; Fri-Sun vs Gonzaga

2. OK Wesleyan Eagles (NAIA), 12-4; Prev #2

OKWU went 4-1 this past week beating Bethany on Monday to finish the sweep of their series, Mission University on Tuesday in Joplin, and beating Saint Mary 2 games to 1 to win their series over the weekend.

In their 4 wins this past week, the Eagles scored 53 total runs.

This week: Tues at OCU; Fri-Sat vs Tabor (3 games)

3(tie). UCO Bronchos (NCAA D2), 9-4; Prev #3

After a wild loss at Oklahoma Baptist on Tuesday, the Bronchos took the series over previously unbeaten Drury in Edmond. The highlight came in game 2 vs Drury as 5 Broncho pitchers combined for the shutout.

This week: Tues vs SE OK State; Fri-Sun at Missouri Western

3(tie). Connors State Cowboys (NJCAA D1), 15-2; Prev #6

The Cowboys went 4-1 last week sweeping a DH at National Park and winning a 3 game series with Carl Albert State, 2-1.

Connors State had a questionable schedule to start the season, but over the last 2 weeks they’ve gone 6-2 against some good teams including 2 series wins over Murray State and CASC respectively.

Region play begins this week.

This week: Mon vs ASU Mountain Home; Thurs-Sat vs NEO (3 games)

5. MACU Evangels (NAIA), 10-5; Prev: 8

6. Murray State Aggies (NJCAA D2), 11-5; Prev #8

This week: Fri-Sun at (D1 #10) LSU Eunice

7(tie). Southwestern Christian Eagles (NAIA), 12-4, Prev #4

Southwestern Christian only played 3 games last week – the series at MACU. Losing the series, 2-1, the Eagles could’ve had a different story. In game 1, the Eagles jumped to a 5-0 lead before MACU scored 6 unanswered to win.

This week: Tues at Hesston; Fri-Sat vs USAO (3 games)

7 (tie). Rogers State Hillcats (NCAA D2), 9-3; Prev: NR

Rogers State enters the Power 10 for the first time in 2026 on the back of a 3-1 week. The Hillcats beat East Central in the midweek game before beating Missouri Southern 2 games to 1 to open MIAA play.

The win on Friday made head coach, Chris Klimas, the winningest coach in program history and the win on Sunday came in walk off fashion in the 11th inning.

This week: Fri-Sun at Fort Hays State

9. Seminole State Trojans (NJCAA D1), 7-4; Prev 5

The Trojans went 3-1 last week splitting a DH against #23 Crowder on Tuesday and winning 2 games against OK Wesleyan’s JV squad in Bartlesville.

This week: Mon at Dallas Brookhaven; Thurs-Fri vs Redlands (3 games); Sat vs TCS Post Grad (DH)

10. Oklahoma State Cowboys (NCAA D1), 4-3; Prev NR

The Pokes seemed to have woke up over the weekend out in the desert. After losing the opener to Grand Canyon, OSU beat the Lopes the next 3 games a combined 32-10.

The Pokes have won 4 of their last 5 games including a 11-1 run rule over nationally ranked Vanderbilt.
