The calendar has turned to the a new year and that means the OSSAA high school baseball season will be here soon. Classes A1, A2, and B officially get started February 23 while the rest of the classes begin March 2.
Up until that the beginning of the season, SSBR will be providing previews of as many teams as we can. Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the high school coaches across the state of Oklahoma asking for their top returning players, top newcomers, overall strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment where their respective programs are coming into the 2026 season.
What you have below are the responses to those questions in the words of the coaches themselves.
Today’s team: Mount St Mary Rockets
Classification: 4A
2025 Spring Results: 24-11
Head Coach: Kevin Winterrowd
Head coaching experience: 11 years (4 at MSM)
Top Returners
- Parker Hayes: Johnson County CC is healthy again and will be a difference maker again on the mound for us and give up a chance in every Monday District Game.
- Will Greyson: was outstanding for us on the mound the last two years and will give us a chance in every game he pitches.
- Miles Stanley: Will be our primary shortstop and will be a leader both offensively and defensively, He has also developed significantly on the mound and I espect him to be a significant factor for us on the mound.
- Wade Webb: will be our centerfielder and also on the best and most complete outfielders in entire state.
- Rylan Kuklinski will be our catcher and leader of our defense. He has made a jump offensively and will be in the middle of our lineup somewhere.
- Jefferson Hodge: hit in leadoff spot last year and will be a lockdown outfielder. He will also move up in our pitching rotation and one of our district arms in relief.
Top Newcomers
- TJ Williams: Will be one of the top college and professional prospects in the state because of his size and elite athleticism.
Overall Team Strengths
Pitching and Defense. This has always been our identity the last 4 years.
Overall Team Needs to Work On
We need our offense to become more consistent and complete especially against championship level pitching.
Outlook
We return 7 position players that have started all last year and played significantly on our 2024 state tournament team. Our starting pitching is back and healthy and probably deeper on the mound that we have ever been. I expect our team to make a jump from last year and be a team contending to be at the 4A state tournament team. We were close last year but need to be better in significant district games and in the postseason and I think we will.
