The calendar has turned to the a new year and that means the OSSAA high school baseball season will be here soon. Classes A1, A2, and B officially get started February 23 while the rest of the classes begin March 2.

Up until that the beginning of the season, SSBR will be providing previews of as many teams as we can. Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the high school coaches across the state of Oklahoma asking for their top returning players, top newcomers, overall strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment where their respective programs are coming into the 2026 season.

What you have below are the responses to those questions in the words of the coaches themselves.

Top Returners

• Carson Vansickle (Jr, P/MIF, top of the order bat), Cooper Dobbins (Jr, P/MIF, top of the order bat), and Levi Slovak (So, P/3B, heart of the order) will all be instrumental in helping our team succeed. Vansickle hit .314 and led the team in both OBP and RBI’s. On the mound, he had 106 K’s in 62.1 IP, a .187 BAA, and 2.24 ERA. Dobbins led the team with a .342 BA and pitched 28.2 innings with 43 K’s.

Top Newcomers

• Tucker Fitzpatrick (Fr, Utility) will do a little bit of everything for us- pitch, play MIF, and OF as well. He is young but will have a chance to help us.

Overall Team Strengths

Our biggest strengths will be MIF play and top/heart of the order bats. With more development, we could have a small, but decent pitching staff.

Overall Team Needs to Work On

Being clean and consistent in all facets of the game.

Outlook

I want our team to be gritty and compete to the best of their ability each and every game. If can do that while continuing to grow and develop, the wins will come.
