The calendar has turned to the a new year and that means the OSSAA high school baseball season will be here soon. Classes A1, A2, and B officially get started February 23 while the rest of the classes begin March 2.
Up until that the beginning of the season, SSBR will be providing previews of as many teams as we can. Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the high school coaches across the state of Oklahoma asking for their top returning players, top newcomers, overall strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment where their respective programs are coming into the 2026 season.
What you have below are the responses to those questions in the words of the coaches themselves.
Today’s team: Moss Pirates

2025 Spring Results: 13-16
2025 Fall Results: 16-11
Head Coach: Daxton Carter
Head coaching experience: 1st year

Overall Team Needs to Work On
We have to hit it better. Only hit .301 as a team. If we can figure it out at the plate we will be up there with the best of the again.
Outlook
We are looking to bring a state championship back to Moss. We have the pitching staff and defense to do it we just have to get it done at the plate. After getting beat in the game to go in extra innings has us fired up and wanting more. We’ve had a really good offseason and are ready to go. We just have to take it one day at a time and we will be up there with the best of them.
