The calendar has turned to the a new year and that means the OSSAA high school baseball season will be here soon. Classes A1, A2, and B officially get started February 23 while the rest of the classes begin March 2.
Up until that the beginning of the season, SSBR will be providing previews of as many teams as we can. Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the high school coaches across the state of Oklahoma asking for their top returning players, top newcomers, overall strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment where their respective programs are coming into the 2026 season.
What you have below are the responses to those questions in the words of the coaches themselves.

2025 Spring Results: 11-23
2025 Fall Results: 8-15

Head coaching experience: 5 years (all at SFS)
Top Returners
- Juan Dominguez (2026) Has started at either first base or in the outfield the past 4 years. Consistent lefty arm on the mound. Posted his best batting season yet this past fall and hopes to take that into the spring.
- Drew Cabrera (2028) Has a lot of power at the plate and is a consistent at bat for the team. Transitioned from short stop to the outfield this past fall.
- Adrian Rayos (2028) Rounds out the outfield with a consistent glove. Has put in a lot of work this offseason with the bat and it has shown in our practices thus far.
- Caleb Granados (2027) Has progressed exponentially for the team on the mound. Increase in velocity and control of the off speed led him to his best season on the mound for us yet this past fall.
Top Newcomers
- Francisco Morales (2026) Left the team during his junior year but has come back to play this spring and has not skipped a beat since leaving. He will provide a reliable infield glove as well as some much-needed speed on the basepaths.
- Sebastian Quintana (2028) Getting his shot at the varsity level as our everyday catcher. Started a few games as a freshman, and split time behind the plate this past fall. Has a good sense and feel for the game behind the plate already.
- Luis Castillo (2029) Luis has proven himself as a utility player, being able to go anywhere in the field and play the position at a competent level or higher. Provides consistent contact in the lineup.
Overall Team Strengths
Outfield play and the want to be a better group than before.
Overall Team Needs to Work On
Aggressiveness whether it be at the plate, in the field or on the base paths. Applying pressure and taking advantage of opportunities.
Outlook
This season will be a good indicator for where we are going as a team. The bulk of our starting lineup is sophomores, and to this point it has been all about taking our punches and keeping the train moving forward. If we can take our punches, learn from our mistakes, and move on to the next day, this spring should be a good season for us to grow as a team.
