The calendar has turned to the a new year and that means the OSSAA high school baseball season will be here soon. Classes A1, A2, and B officially get started February 23 while the rest of the classes begin March 2.
Up until that the beginning of the season, SSBR will be providing previews of as many teams as we can. Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the high school coaches across the state of Oklahoma asking for their top returning players, top newcomers, overall strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment where their respective programs are coming into the 2026 season.
What you have below are the responses to those questions in the words of the coaches themselves.
Today’s team: Kingfisher Yellowjackets
Classification: 4A
2025 Spring Results: 7-22
Head Coach: Stan Blundell
Head coaching experience: 17 years (all at Kingfisher)
Top Returners
- Kaden Cline– Best bat, one of our top arms, lots of experience
- Cooper Henley– Best arm, one of our best bats
- Carter Stephenson– Good speed in the outfield, middle of the lineup bat
- Brett Calamateo– good freshman year last year, top of the lineup utility player
Top Newcomers
- Collin Farrar– freshman with lots of potential, can play anywhere, hit at the top of the lineup, good arm on the mound
- Drew Snider– another freshman with lots of potential, positional flexibility, solid bat and arm
Overall Team Strengths
We have several guys with a lot of previous experience and an infusion of young talent coming up. Should have the arms to keep us in games and hopefully an improved defense behind them.
Overall Team Needs to Work On
Getting on base more and playing better defense
Outlook
Hoping to make improvements from last years team and develop our younger talent. We only have one senior, so we will be relying on young guys that we are excited about.
