The calendar has turned to the a new year and that means the OSSAA high school baseball season will be here soon. Classes A1, A2, and B officially get started February 23 while the rest of the classes begin March 2.

Up until that the beginning of the season, SSBR will be providing previews of as many teams as we can. Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the high school coaches across the state of Oklahoma asking for their top returning players, top newcomers, overall strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment where their respective programs are coming into the 2026 season.

What you have below are the responses to those questions in the words of the coaches themselves.

Today’s team: Skiatook Bulldogs

Classification: 4A

2025 Results: 22-14 (Regional finalist)

Head Coach: Joe Faircloth

Head coaching experience: 8 years (all at Skiatook)

  • Bryson Earp: P/1B Rose State Signee. Anchor in the lineup and in the field at 1B. Big arm that will see a lot of innings this spring. 4 year starter.
  • Trace Harvel: P Fort State Community College Signee. Big District arm for us who went 6-3 on the mound last year.
  • Cole Bray :Jr SS/P: As a Soph went 4-2 on the mound with 81 ks. Hit .350 with 3 HR. He will be a big factor on the mound and in the lineup for us.
  • Trey Vaughn: Jr C: Caught every inning last spring and is poised for a breakout year at the plate. He is an anchor behind the plate and a leader on the field.
  • Barrett Henton: Sr. OF/UTL: Will be our everyday RF with big pop in the lineup.
  • Jayden Orth: Sr OF/P: Will be a big part of our pitching staff and has great speed on the bases.
  • Braylon Banks: Jr 3B: Some of the quickest hands on the team. He is a very good basketball player who can swing the bat and play exceptional defense.

Top Newcomers

  • Maddux Anglen: FR. Coming into the year with great defense and a good bat. Will help on the mound and in the outfield.
  • Brady Canady: Soph. He was the everyday starter at 2B last year but is looking for a breakout offensively. Great glove and speed on the bases.

Outlook

Returning 8 of our 9 starters from last years 22-14 team. We have a chance to pitch it well and play good defense. The commitment to our Strength Program should help our offense out this spring. We have several guys who have committed to the next level and more that have the capabilities to play college baseball. This is a tight knit group who loves playing for each other and it should be a fun year in Skiatook.
