The calendar has turned to the a new year and that means the OSSAA high school baseball season will be here soon. Classes A1, A2, and B officially get started February 23 while the rest of the classes begin March 2.

Up until that the beginning of the season, SSBR will be providing previews of as many teams as we can. Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the high school coaches across the state of Oklahoma asking for their top returning players, top newcomers, overall strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment where their respective programs are coming into the 2026 season.

What you have below are the responses to those questions in the words of the coaches themselves.

Today’s team: Morrison Wildcats

Classification: 2A-2

2025 Results: 11-18

Head Coach: Derrick Meador

Head coaching experience: 1 year

Top Returners

  • Sterlin Casey – Senior – SS/P – Signed with Mid-America Christian University. Blue collar kid with a smooth glove and top of the line-up bat.
  • Brady Petree – Senior – C/P/Utility – Senior leader who has versatility to do a little bit of everything. Has a great approach at the plate.
  • Koltin Smith – Senior – CF/P – Strong. Ball jumps off his bat. Had a break out junior year and has only gotten better.

Top Newcomers

Overall Team Strengths

Our best overall strength is experience. We return seven starters plus the addition of Green. I feel like we will be pretty strong offensively and be able to score some runs.

Overall Team Needs to Work On

Our pitching and defense has to improve from last season. We need to consistently hit locations and make plays when given the opportunity.

Outlook

Our goal is to make the state tournament. With this much quality experience, we think that we are in a position to accomplish that. We plan to work hard, execute, and get better every day so that we are playing our best baseball in May.
