The calendar has turned to the a new year and that means the OSSAA high school baseball season will be here soon. Classes A1, A2, and B officially get started February 23 while the rest of the classes begin March 2.
Up until that the beginning of the season, SSBR will be providing previews of as many teams as we can. Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the high school coaches across the state of Oklahoma asking for their top returning players, top newcomers, overall strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment where their respective programs are coming into the 2026 season.
What you have below are the responses to those questions in the words of the coaches themselves.

Head coaching experience: 9 years (2 at Stroud)

- Jeremiah Cropp– dominant Pitcher and Hitter / No fly zone in center field .455 Avg .762 slugging .983 fielding percentage
- Jessen Leathers– Catcher threw out 16 runners last season. .325 batting average.518 slugging percentage.
- Cal Shields – Infielder .416 avg .663 slugging percentage.
- Stryker Bray – Pitcher Struck out 60 batters. Batter .311
Top Newcomers
- Gideon Smalley– Left handed pitcher
- Gage Bailey – Catcher/utility player
- Lane Day – utility player
Overall Team Strengths
24-11 team last season Regional Finalist and Route 66 Conference Champions last year. Returning 8 starters and an undefeated Junior High team. 6 Starters from Junior High team now freshmen. Team has excellent camaraderie.

Becoming better every single day.
Outlook
Over the past two seasons the program has been through rebuilding stages. This will be the most talented baseball team Stroud has had in recent years. Excitement and expectations are at an all time high. Goals are always the same win 20 games, win the conference, win regionals, make it to the State Tournament and win the State Tournament.
