SSBR High School Preview: Midwest City Bombers

The calendar has turned to the a new year and that means the OSSAA high school baseball season will be here soon. Classes A1, A2, and B officially get started February 23 while the rest of the classes begin March 2.

Up until that the beginning of the season, SSBR will be providing previews of as many teams as we can. Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the high school coaches across the state of Oklahoma asking for their top returning players, top newcomers, overall strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment where their respective programs are coming into the 2026 season.

What you have below are the responses to those questions in the words of the coaches themselves.

Classification: 5A

2025 Results: 12-21

Head Coach: Landon Vodka

Head coaching experience: 2 years (all at MWC

Top Returners

James Washburn – Dodge City; Mr. Incredible for us. He’s relied on heavily to anchor our INF, pitching staff, and hits in the middle of our order.
Kayden Fixico – Rose State; Fixico, this year, is looking to take a step forward. Last year was a learning experience for him. Kayden has the ability to beat any team when he steps on the mound.
Lincoln King – UCO (Football); Lincoln, just like Bryan Williams, is our anchor in CF. His ability to cover ground/gaps is something you can’t teach. If a ball is hit anywhere in his vicinity we know he’s reeling it in.
Terrance Rideau – uncommitted 2027; Terrance took a step back offensively for us last year. In regionals, it finally clicked and he ended on a heater. He’s heavily relied on being our lead off guy. He’s the engine that makes us go. When he gets on 1B, it’s almost automatic that he will score.

Outlook

Last year, it was a rebuilding year, with holes being filled with minimal Varsity experience. Going into this year, we will have 8 Senior starters taking the field for us. Majority of these guys have been here with me the past 4 years. We have grown together and they know what the standard/expectations are. This season we won’t be an easy out and I expect our dudes to compete to their fullest potential.
