The calendar has turned to the a new year and that means the OSSAA high school baseball season will be here soon. Classes A1, A2, and B officially get started February 23 while the rest of the classes begin March 2.

Up until that the beginning of the season, SSBR will be providing previews of as many teams as we can. Recently, SSBR sent out questionnaires to the high school coaches across the state of Oklahoma asking for their top returning players, top newcomers, overall strengths/weaknesses, and their overall assessment where their respective programs are coming into the 2026 season.

What you have below are the responses to those questions in the words of the coaches themselves.

Today’s team: Edmond Santa Fe Wolves

Classification: 6A

2025 Results: 36-7 (State Champion)

Head Coach: Kris Webb

Head coaching experience: 14 years (2 at Edmond Santa Fe)

Top Returners

  • Brady Morgeson (2026 – Blinn College signee) is a four-year starter at SF and will be our everyday second baseman, hitting at the top of our lineup. He is the heart and soul of our team. Brady is an elite hitter with outstanding plate discipline, and his leadership capabilities are second to none. In my opinion, he is one of the best left-handed bats in Oklahoma. While coaches say this often, it truly applies here—Brady is not only a great player, but an even better person.
  • Cole Britton (2026 – Uncommitted) would be a four-year starter if not for a season-ending injury last year. He will be our everyday left fielder and a middle-of-the-lineup bat. Cole has the ability to change the game with one swing, and he is a fierce competitor and a great teammate who brings toughness and leadership to our lineup.
  • Summit Rogers (2026 – Uncommitted) will be stepping into a new role for us this spring. After spending most of his SF career as a bullpen arm, we are transitioning him into a starting role. We love Summit’s competitiveness and the way he consistently gives everything he has for the club. He is a passionate teammate who brings energy and commitment to our team every day.
  • Josh Parkhurst (2026 – Uncommitted) has been part of our program for the past couple of years and has gained valuable experience, including significant playing time due to injuries. We love what he brings defensively, and if he can continue to gain consistency at the plate, he has the potential to be a major contributor for us. Josh will be a key piece of our pitching staff, with the ability to start games or come out of the bullpen in high-leverage situations, and he has the confidence and composure to get us out of tough spots.
  • Eli Parkhurst (2027 – OU commit) played in 36 games for us last season, contributing at multiple positions. This year, he will take on a significantly larger role both offensively and defensively. Eli will be an everyday player, hit at the top of our lineup, and start some of our biggest games. He is arguably our most complete player—he can run, hit, and throw as well as anyone in our program. In addition to his on-field impact, Eli is a great teammate and a strong leader for our team.

Top Newcomers

  • Zak Tucker (2026 – SNU) will be looked to as a leader of both our pitching staff and our defense from the catching position. He has put in an incredible amount of work throughout the summer and fall, and we are excited to see that preparation translate on the field. Zak is a great athlete who can really run and throw, and his overall skill set makes him a valuable piece for our team this season.
  • Jax Gordon (2026 – Uncommitted) a true program guy who has worked patiently while waiting for his opportunities—and has taken full advantage of them. Jax will log significant time at first base for us and provide quality weekend innings on the mound. He is one of the most coachable players I’ve ever had, and we value his maturity, selflessness, and team-first mindset.
  • Cam Brumbaugh (2029 – Uncommitted) is the No. 1 ranked player in his class according to PBR. As the final Brumbaugh to come through our program, he has big shoes to fill—and he does so in every way. Cam is a complete player who can run, throw, hit for both average and power. He will have the opportunity to play multiple positions in both the infield and outfield. His left-handed swing plays at any level, and he thrives on competition. Cam has great stuff on the mound as well, he will pitch big time innings for us as a freshman. We are excited to follow his development and watch his career unfold over the next four years.
  • Alec Arredondo (2029 – Uncommitted) is another one of our talented freshmen who brings the “wow” factor. He has come in as a freshman unafraid of any moment and consistently rises to the occasion. Alec is an elite infield defender, a strong enough athlete to play the outfield when needed, and features three plus pitches on the mound. It’s hard to imagine a lineup where Alec isn’t involved in some way, as he continues to be a major contributor to our success. His development is another one we are excited to watch over the next four years.
  • Ty Amous (2026 – Uncommitted) a two-sport athlete who will have the opportunity to see time in the outfield and possibly serve as our DH this season. Ty is an elite runner and a fierce competitor. He has the ability to use the entire field offensively—bunt for hits and drive the ball for power.
  • Easton McDaniel (2027 – Uncommitted) a left-handed arm we will rely on in a variety of roles on the mound. Easton is also one of our better outfield defenders and brings power at the plate. As he continues to gain consistency both on the mound and offensively, he will have opportunities to be a big-time contributor.
  • Kike Anderson (2027 – Uncommitted) arguably the best athlete in our program. Kike can efficiently play all three infield positions, brings true speed, and when he makes contact, it’s loud. Like many of our newcomers, continued consistency will be the key, but his upside is significant.
  • Jax Marshall (2027 – Uncommitted) another talented left-handed junior who can truly do it all. Jax may have the best arm in our program, and his upside on the mound is extremely high. He will be given numerous opportunities on the mound as we determine the role that fits him best. He is also a strong outfielder who consistently does positive things at the plate.

Overall Team Strengths

Our team camaraderie and the overall parity within the group stand out as strengths for us. We have so many players in the program who are capable of contributing this year. Ultimately, it will come down to who can handle the moment—and who can’t.

Overall Team Needs to Work On

Our biggest concern as a team is overall varsity experience. We know we don’t have the pitching staff we had last year, which means we must be elite defensively. We have to make the routine play—every time.

Outlook

We are a talented team with limited varsity experience. These players have continued to work while waiting for their opportunities. We had a strong senior class last year, which limited varsity playing time for many of our current players. At most programs across the state, several of these athletes would already have multiple years of varsity experience.

This group has been incredibly fun to coach throughout the fall and up to this point. They thrive on competition. I’m curious to see how we handle things early in the season, but I’m extremely confident we will be dialed in when it matters most.
