The 2026 college season will be here before you know it as the majority of our NCAA D2 squads will begin their seasons the last weekend of January.

In the past, we have looked ahead to the season with season previews, but this year we are changing it up a bit with a fall report that will also provide a look to the season ahead.

SSBR recently sent out questionnaires to each head coach of the small college (NCAA D2, NAIA, NCCAA) and JUCO schools in the state. We asked them to provide who their top returners, top newcomers, and top performers were in the fall. We’ve compiled that information into the fall report with an outlook for the upcoming 2026 season.

Outlook

It has been tough times for multiple seasons for the Saints, but there is new leadership in Moore as Joe Adair takes over for Randall. Adair comes from the University of Fort Lauderdale where he was the Associate Head Coach the last 3 seasons. The Eagles won 115 games at the NCCAA level in those 3 seasons so Adair has the knowledge of what it takes to be successful at the NCCAA level.

A huge problem for the Saints in 2025 was the pitching and defense. Randall gave up too many runs for them to be competitive. Adair says that both the pitching and the defense “should be much improved in 2026. The success of the team relies on how effective they will be offensively.”

Not only is Adair the new head coach at Randall, he brought with him the lead assistant from UTFL. Together they were on a staff that won 150 games the last 4 years and made 4 consecutive trips to the NCCAA World Series.

Adair says they have “high expectations going into 2026.”
