It is hard to believe, but the 2025 college baseball season is less than a month away for several of our squads here in the Sooner State.

Over the next several weeks leading up to the season we will be looking a some of our teams on the college level. Recently we sent out a questionnaire to the head coaches of each squad from the NCAA D2, NAIA, NCCAA, and NJCAA levels asking about their returning players and incoming players as well as their thoughts about their strengths and “opportunities” heading into the 2025 season.

Let’s take a look at a team with high expectations for the 2025 season at the NJCAA (Junior College) level: NOC Enid Jets.

2024 Recap

The Jets had an up and down year in 2024. They had winning streaks of 7 and 13 games en route to a 33-24 overall record and a 17-13 record in Region 2. NOC Enid also spent time in the national rankings before losing their last 6 games including going 0-2 in the Region 2 Tournament.

Outlook

NOC Enid returns a ton of offensive production from the 2024 season. They have 4 players returning with at least 44 RBIs in 2024 and three of those players are moving on to NCAA D1 programs next year. The Jets will score and score a lot. Period.

Not only are they returning a lot of offensive production, the Jets are returning “several starters on the mound.” Jabe Schlehuber had the most starts for Enid last year and has signed with Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Cale Wetwiska is also one of the top two-way players in the JUCO ranks.

Ryan Bay is going into 2nd year at Enid and has a talented group of players. The experience this team will have should give the Jets a chance to be one of the top squads in not just the region, but the nation.
