Legendary University of Oklahoma Head Coach, Enos Semore will be inducted into the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame as part of it’s 2025 class.

Semore led the Sooner program for 22 years from 1968-1989. Before that Semore was the head coach at Bacone College (then a junior college) from 1963-1967.

In his tenure at OU, Semore’s teams compiled an overall record of 851-370-1 for an winning percentage of .697. After his first season in Norman, Semore’s teams never had a losing record and won 7 Big 8 championships and made 14 NCAA Regionals.

The best stretch of Semore’s career at OU came in the early to mid 70’s. His teams went to the College World Series 5 straight seasons from 1972-1976.

Before his tenure at OU, Semore was head coach at Bacone College (then Bacone Junior College, now defunct) in Muskogee when it was a junior college. His Bacone team won the Junior College World Series in 1967 before Semore became OU’s head coach.

Semore was born in Haskell County and played both baseball and basketball at Northeastern State in Tahlequah.

He will be joined by Ken Hayes (Basketball), Ann Pitts-Turner (Golf), Don Porter (Softball), and Wes Welker (Football).

Semore had his jersey retired by OU in ceremony this past season.
