In many ways it had seemed like the Fall season had just started, but this past weekend were the State Tournaments ending the season. Silo (2A), Wright City (A), and Ft Cobb-Broxton (B) won the state titles in their respective classifications.
This season we started having players and pitchers of the week awards for each class. For the state tournaments, we will continue the recognition with All State Tournament teams for each class (without the bag tags that were awarded for the weekly winners, sorry).
Each class will have a catcher, four infielders, 3 outfielders, a utility/DH, and three pitchers. One player from the teams will also be named the State Tournament MVP.
Class 2A

MVP: Zane Sander, Silo
.500 (6-12), .538 OPB, HR (GS), 2B, 4 RBI, BB, 3 R, SB
Sander was outstanding at the top of the lineup while anchoring the Rebels defense at shortstop. While Sander had 5 of his 6 hits in the semis and finals, he made the most of his one hit on Thursday as it was a grand slam. Along with Jackson Harris (Dale), Sander let all teams with 6 hits total in the tournament.

.667 AVG, 3 2B, 5 RBI, 2 BB, 4 R, 2 SB
Lindly was “Mr Everything” for the Lumberjax. He set the tone on Thursday with a dominant performance on the mound in their win over Hydro-Eakly. He then had 5 hits over the next 2 games including a perfect day at the plate in the championship game going 3-3 with a BB. He opened the scoring in the 1st inning for the Jax with an RBI double then helped Wright City take the lead for good in the bottom of the 6th with a 2 RBI double that ended up being the game winning RBI.

.875, .917 OBP, 1.875 SLG (2.792 OPS), HR, 2 3B, 2 2B, 3 RBI, 4 BB, 4 R
It may be “controversial” to name an MVP from a team that didn’t win the championship, but when that player had a performance that Thiessen did, he has to be the MVP. Thiessen had the most hits (7) of anyone in any class and 5 of those 7 hits were extra base hits. He hit for the cycle in Thursday’s game and had multiple hits in all 3 games.
