The high school baseball coaching carousel takes another turn today as the Moore Lions will be looking for a new head coach to lead the program.
Caleb Teel announced on X (Twitter) that he is stepping down after two years at the helm to spend more time with his family.
The Lions had a 35-35 record in the two years that Teel led the program.
In 2024, Moore had their first winning season in several years as the Lions finished 19-17. Before Moore ended the regular season losing 7 of their last 8 games, the Lions sported a 16-8 season. They had wins over eventual 6A state tournament teams Sand Springs and Enid on the season and looked like they could possibly be a sleeper to make the State Tournament.
Moore lived up to that possible sleeper in the Regionals as they knocked out Broken Arrow of the bracket before finishing runner up to Owasso in the finals.
All the best to Coach Teel in his future endeavors.
